Packing Strips Steel Strappings are manufactured from low and medium carbon strapping quality cold rolled steel strips, produced in-house with utmost control. The strips are then deburred, austempered, painted and waxed in continuous line with automatic controls, incorporating the latest technology. Proper selection of grade of steel is made to ensure ideal combination of physical properties
Steel strappings are produced with very close tolerances in dimension and physical properties, thereby ensuring a consistent and uniform quality. The straps conform to Indian and International Standards viz. IS:5872-1990 and ASTM-D3953. Steel Strappings are available both for Light Duty and Heavy Duty applications to allow a wise choice to the customer. Standard properties of straps are as follows: any other size/property, special enquiry is to be made. Special Features: Edges Edges of the strip are roller beveled by formed rolls, which removes the burrs and also provides better contact with seals during sealing. Surface Painting of strip surface is carried out on-line, by dipping in paint tank, wiping to maintain a constant coating thickness and finally in Infrared ovens. Painting ensures improved corrosion resistance with 48 Hrs. resistance to neutral salt spray as per IS-9844-1981.
Waxing of strip after painting improves transmission of tension during packing, especially around corners of the package, and ensures slippage load below 6.5 Kgs.
Zinc painting is done with Zinc enriched paint for corrosion resistance under very severe conditions, as also to provide cathodic protection when packing galvanized items. Zinc painted strips provide resistance against salt spray corrosion for 96 Hrs. Colling Coils are supplied either in Ribbon wound single coils, Oscillated Wound Coils and Jumbo Coils. Ribbon wound coils are single coils with individual layers wound directly over the previous layer. Oscillated Wound and Jumbo coils are wound on a core with each layer spaced at a particular pitch over the specified spool width.
The coils are normally supplied with following parameters. However, specific requirement of customers may also be supplied on enquiry. Steel Strappings find extensive use in the following industries.:.
